Two Steph Curry free throws with six second remaining were enough, as the Spurs fells to the Golden State Warriors 109-108 on Friday night.
It was the first loss in the NBA Cup Pool C play for the Spurs.
The Spurs led by 108-105 with 1:06 remaining in the 4th quarter. A Jimmy Butler layup cut the lead to one with 56 seconds left. However, the Spurs would miss their final three field goal attempts down the stretch to keep the door open.
Steph Curry was then fouled by De'Aaron Fox with six seconds left, and the two-time MVP sank both free throws to put the Warriors ahead 109-108.
The Spurs had a chance to win it, but De'Aaron Fox's step back jumper fell short, hitting the rim twice before bouncing out.
Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Fox pitched in 24 points and 10 assists.
Wemby did have his typical Wemby highlights again though, blocking Draymond Green twice on one play.
Curry meanwhile led all scorers with 49 points and shot 9-for-17 from three-point range. Butler added another 21 for Golden State.
The loss drops the Spurs to 8-4 on the season. They will remain at home for their next game, as they host the Kings on Sunday afternoon.
