The San Antonio Spurs kicking off the annual “NBA Season of Giving,” a five-week celebration running from mid-November through December when NBA teams give back.

Spurs players and Spurs Sports and Entertainment (SS&E) staff will serve Thanksgiving dinner to families, give out holiday gifts to kids, provide families with decorated Christmas trees and much more. To make these community moments possible, the Spurs are teaming up with nonprofits and partners, including Elf Louise Christmas Project, Goodwill, H-E-B, JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa, Methodist Healthcare and Methodist Healthcare Ministries, Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU) and San Antonio Food Bank.

Each effort aims to amplify and celebrate the impactful contributions made by our community partners and organizations who serve our communities each day. Last season, Spurs Season of Giving events reached more than 10 different zip codes, including the donation of more than 5,000 turkeys, toys and other household necessities. Season of Giving exemplifies SS&E’s commitment to community impact, fostering connections among players, partners, staff and families in the places where we live, learn, work and play. Throughout Season of Giving, Spurs players will also lead individual efforts to spread holiday cheer and connect with families across San Antonio.

“The holidays can be a difficult time for many families, especially this year as some face added challenges,” said Patricia Mejia, Chief Impact and Inclusion Officer at SS&E. “Season of Giving is about meeting our community where they are, extending a hand, sharing joy and helping ensure every family feels supported and seen.”

The Spurs will host the Season of Giving Dinner on November 17th. to kick off the celebration.
