On Thursday June 17, 2021 thousands gathered at Fiesta Fiesta and Pin Pandemonium to officially, and ceremoniously kick off Fiesta 2021 with lots of hope and perseverance. Crowds were slow to start. It was almost as if everyone was dipping their toe in the water to see if it felt alright. Judging the steady growth in attendance and media coverage San Antonians were ready to Fiesta!
From the Chris Perez & Siggno Selena tribute to the Texas Cavilers Parade, everyone was excited to return to San Antonio traditions. Chicken on a stick, the pomp and circumstance, oh and the sounds from every corner of the city filling the streets with culture and echoing the rhythms of generations past. A family tradition dating back to the late 1800's. While we didn't have the nationally recognized Battle of Flowers parade this year, or Oyster Bake, we did have the most important thing. Familia. The San Antonio community coming together to help one another through great music, delicious food, and long chats with at least one tia about La Semana Alegre.
There are still a few days left to FIESTA! Here's a link to all Fiesta San Antonio events, and here's a link to all of the Fiesta de los Reyes at Market Square events. We hope you enjoy your time at Fiesta.
