The Philadelphia Eagles and All-Pro linebacker Zack Baun have reportedly reached an agreement on a new three-year, $51 million contract, which includes $34 million guaranteed at signing, as well as an additional $1.5 million in incentives and escalators, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday (March 5).
"Breaking: Eagles are re-signing All-Pro LB Zack Baun to a three-year, $51 million contract, including $34 million guaranteed at signing and additional $1.5 million in incentives and escalators, per sources. The contract instantly makes Baun one of the highest-paid LBs in the NFL," Schfeter wrote on his X account. "Zack Baun's journey with the Eagles: He signed a one-year, $3.5M deal in 2024, and now has earned a three-year, $51M contract in 2025 after a season as a Pro Bowler, First-Team All-Pro, and Super Bowl champion."
Baun, who signed a one-year contract with the Eagles after spending his first four seasons with the New Orleans Saints, recorded a career-best 151 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks in 2024, having been selected as a First-team All-Pro for the first time. The former Wisconsin standout's reported new deal came hours after the Eagles rewarded All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley with an extension on Tuesday (March 4).
"Zack Baun is now the second Eagles free agent from last offseason to land a new deal. Saquon Barkley received a two-year, $41.2M extension on Tuesday, and now Baun signs a three-year, $51M contract on Wednesday," Schefter wrote on his X account.
Barkley signed a three-year, $37.75 million contract with the Eagles this past offseason after spending the first seven years of his NFL career with the New York Giants. The former Penn State standout recorded an NFL best 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns on 345 rushing attempts during the regular season and 499 yards and five touchdowns on 91 attempts during the postseason, which included 57 yards on 25 rushing attempts during the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX win against the Kansas City Chiefs last month.
