Southwest Side Shooting Prompts Police Standoff at Home

A 37 year old woman was shot inside a home on the southwest side this morning, prompting a standoff as police tried to convince the suspect to surrender, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say when they answered the call, the suspect inside the home in the 400 block of Randall, which is off General McMullen, refused to leave the house.

Officers managed to get the victim and two other people out of the house. The woman was rushed to University Hospital with non life threatening wounds, according to EMS.

It was later determined that the suspect, a 27 year old, was not in the home and the scene was cleared.
