Czech-Based Business Services Firm Selects S.A. For U.S. Headquarters

Czecjh based OKIN Business Process Services today announced the location of its U.S. headquarters at Brooks in San Antonio, bringing some 1400 jobs in fields ranging from consulting to tech to networking, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

OKIN's specialty is working with businesses to implement new processes and management structures, so the jobs will be high skilled, and high paying professionals, including attorneys, IT specialists, and marketing experts.

OKIN plans to invest some $23 million at its new headquarters, including refurbishing two historic buildings at the former Air Force base.

The OKIN decision is contingent on the approval of incentives by local officials.

“After   a two-year  site  selection  journey,  we  are  delighted  to  announce  that  our  U.S. headquarters will be located in San Antonio, Texas. We attribute our success as a firm to the passion, ingenuity, and courage of the  people we hire," OKIN U.S. President and CEO Dan Smith said. "We have determined that Texas, in particular, San Antonio, shares OKIN’s values with which we will together usher in continued growth. We would like to thank the State of Texas, City of San Antonio, Bexar County,  San  Antonio  Economic  Development  Foundation,  and  Brooks  Development Authority  for  their  support  and  continued  assistance  throughout  this  process  and  are looking forward to being a positive member of the San Antonio community."

Mayor Nirenberg said the company's decision to locate its national headquarters in San Antonio is a major development for Brooks and for the region

.“OKIN BPS choosing San Antonio as its U.S. headquarters is a testament to our city’s globally  competitive  future,' he said.  "We  are  building  the  right  infrastructure,  business friendly environment, and workforce that is attracting investment from the world’s most sought-after companies.

”On  hand for today's announcement was Gov. Abbott, who said OKIN BPS is one of the fastest growing business services company in the US.

“By opening its U.S. headquarters right here in San Antonio, OKIN BPS is undertaking its largest ever expansion effort and building its first office outside of Europe. I thank OKIN BPS for investing in Texas, and I am confident that this new partnership will take our state’s success to even greater heights," he said.

The firm chose to locate in San Antonio with the help of the Texas Enterprise Fund, and with the leadership of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, which is headed by Jenna Saucedo-Herrera.

“A project two years in the making, it’s an exciting day as we welcome OKIN BPS to San Antonio.  Team  San  Antonio  has  taken  our  city  from  local  to  global  and  are  well-positioned to continue attracting investment from world-class companies to our city," she said.

The firm says it will begin work on the renovation process at Brooks within 12 to 24 months, but will begin ramping up operations at the facility soon.
