Texas Reports 25 Straight Months of Job Growth

The Texas Workforce Commission reported today that July was the 25th straight month of job growth in Texas, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Private employers added 25,900 jobs in July, for a year to year private sector job growth of 377,000 jobs.  That's a strong 3.1% year to year job growth.

The state's unemployment rate held steady at 4.0% in July, largely due to the number of new workers entering the labor market.

The Dallas Fed reports the Texas Economy is surging in all sectors and in all parts of the state.

The main driver of the economy is the growing oil and gas industry, which also affects manufacturing, retail and other sectors.

But services, health care, and exports all remain strong.
